More about this activity
Whether it’s your first or hundredth time traveling to Maui, there’s always something new to explore. Maui’s neighbor island of Lanaʻi offers a chance to see the unspoiled side of Hawaii’s natural paradise and is definitely worth exploring in its own right.
Lanaʻi Ferry from Lahaina Harbor
From Maui, we highly recommend taking the Lanaʻi Ferry from Lahaina Harbor to reach Lanaʻi, also known as The Pineapple Isle. Departing Lahaina daily at 6:45am, 9:15am, 12:45pm, 3:15pm and 5:45pm, return ferries to Maui are scheduled from Lanai at 8am, 10:30am, 2pm, 4:30pm and 6:45pm. (as of September 4th, 2018 publishing)
Hop aboard the luxurious, double-decker Maui-Lanaʻi Passenger Ferry for a one-hour ride across the scenic Auau Channel, offering views of Hawaii’s marine life, Molokini Crater, Haleakala Volcano, the West Maui Mountains, and even the Big Island when conditions are clear.
Four Seasons Resort
Once you arrive on Lanaʻi, we highly recommend taking a short walk to Sweetheart Rock and Hulopoe Bay or indulging in an extended stay at the nearby Four Seasons Resort. For a more rugged adventure, 4×4 trekker tours, horseback riding, jeep rentals, guided UTV rides, and archery are all available. Grab your tickets online to explore this lesser-known side of tropical paradise.
