THE BOAT
Step aboard this gleaming, 65-foot catamaran for a whale watch to remember. Grab a seat above deck and keep your eyes peeled for whale spouts and breaches, or relax in the shady main cabin and enjoy the view through the large tinted windows. This whale watch operates at 67% of its carrying capacity, meaning you can enjoy a little extra legroom – and fewer people jockeying for the same view – while onboard.
THE TOUR
Two-hour tours depart out of Maalaea Harbor five times daily, from sunrise to late afternoon. You’ll spot unique whale behavior on each tour. And if you don’t, you’ll be invited aboard again free of charge. A marine naturalist is present on each excursion to narrate the ins and outs of what you see – from tail slaps to spyhopping. This tour also features a hydrophone (an underwater microphone), so you can listen to the reverberating songs of the whales beneath the surface.
WHAT TO KNOW
Onboard purchases are cashless, so pack your credit or debit card if you plan on purchasing snacks or drinks. And speaking of drinks, this vessel boasts a well-stocked bar for those who wish to imbibe. Binoculars and cameras are also available for rent. It’s recommended that guests wear flat or low-soled shoes and bring along a light jacket, as it can get chilly on the water.
