THE BOAT

THE TOUR
Departing from Maʻalaea Harbor, PacWhale whale watches take guests into the waters surrounding Maui Nui in search of North Pacific humpback whales. A Certified Marine Naturalist provides educational narration throughout the excursion, drawing on Pacific Whale Foundation’s extensive marine research and conservation work. Whale activity can include breaching, tail slapping, spy hopping, and other surface behaviors.
WHAT TO KNOW
Onboard purchases are cashless, so pack your credit or debit card if you plan on purchasing snacks or drinks. And speaking of drinks, this vessel boasts a well-stocked bar for those who wish to imbibe. Binoculars and cameras are also available for rent. The whale watching tour was good, but i wish our captain would have gone closer. We saw several humpback whales, including a mother and her calf. If you visit during whale season, I would plan to go in the middle of February to get more around.

I had the best whale watch out of Maalaea with you guys! Thank you!!! Plenty of room on the boat, and I loved the upper deck viewing. You can see right down on the whales. We got “mugged” for 25 minutes, which I guess is pretty extraordinary. What a TRIP! I never though whale watching would be so exciting. We’ll do it again if we come back to Maui.
