With trails winding through over 1,400 acres of wild West Maui land, Maui Off Road Adventure UTV tour is one of the island’s most exciting adventure activities. Ramble through unkept dirt trails on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains and take in stunning views that only a select few have access to. On each tour, guests are provided with the opportunity to learn about the rare plant and animal life of the West Maui Mountains. Be prepared to get dirty! The hills above West Maui are famous for their red dirt, and tours operate rain or shine!

The Tour
Located above Kapalua Airport and just minutes from Kaʻanapali Beach, Maui Off-Road Adventures has cultivated the perfect eco-adventure for visitors. Guests will get to ramble through 1,400 acres of untouched West Maui land, test their off-road skills, and take in gorgeous views of the coast and neighboring islands of Lanaʻi and Molokaʻi. Tours run two hours and are open to ages 7 and up. Drivers must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
The Terrain
Tight trails snake through forests and grassland, reaching an elevation of 2,000 feet. The tours have occasional stopping points to take in the gorgeous ocean views and the beautiful backdrop of the West Maui Mountains. The terrain is made up of Maui’s famous red dirt, so be ready to get dirty! The West Maui Mountains are also home to some of the rainiest peaks in the world, so be prepared for plenty of mud.
Restoration Project
In the midst of all the mud, fun, and adventure, guests will also form a deep connection with West Maui’s beautiful land. As part of an ongoing restoration project and partnership with Puʻu Kukui Watershed, each off-road tour will plant Native Hawaiian Koa trees, which were once plentiful. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about the rich cultural and natural history of West Maui. This is one of Maui’s most unique activities.

| Expect: | Clients will get very dirty and possibly soaking wet (how wet they get is controlled by the driver and how they choose to drive through mud and riverbeds). Expect to get dirty and wet! |
| What to Wear: | Clothes you don't mind ruining with red dirt along with closed toe shoes. Bring a towel for your car afterwards. |

I would do this again, but be prepared to get dirty. I didn’t quite understand how it all worked. I got muddy and dirty. It was really fun seeing the different parts of the island and fun trailing through fields and along paths most don’t get to go on. But dirty. That maitai after a shower was golden!

I don’t care if you’re staying down in Wailea or even Hana, this is worth penciling into the vacation calendar. The crew were so cool and helpful. And funny! The views were awesome, but what made the trip was the adrenaline of burning around trails in the middle of nowhere. DO THIS!
