THE LOCATION
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Kohala Coast, the Hale Hoaloha Luau at Mauna Lani is nestled between five mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Guests enjoy the beautiful Mauna Lani Auberge Resort as the evening unfolds under swaying palm trees.
THE FEAST
Guests enjoy a delicious island-inspired buffet featuring favorites such as ahi poke, kalua pork, coffee-rubbed roast striploin, teriyaki chicken, mahi with lilikoi butter and pineapple salsa, and fresh local-style sides. The meal also includes a selection of desserts, with coffee and tea available to round out the evening. All guests receive a complimentary welcome cocktail, while Aliʻi guests enjoy wine and access to the open bar throughout the evening. Menu items are subject to change.
THE CELEBRATION
The celebration begins with a warm Hawaiian welcome, as guests are invited to participate in traditional games and watch the imu ceremony. With incredible music and dance, you’re treated to an excellent show, but what really makes this incredible is the MC, who should really be on Broadway! What a voice! As night falls, torches light the way for a captivating performance of hula, live music, and stories about Kalāhuipuaʻa and the history and traditions of the area. The evening culminates with an exhilarating fireknife dance, leaving guests with memories of a night steeped in culture and entertainment. This is one of our favorite Big Island Luaus.
SEATING
The ʻOhana Package includes luʻau-style seating, while the Aliʻi Package offers priority seating, complimentary wine, an open bar, and a printed photo. Both seating areas provide spectacular views of the stage and ocean, ensuring all guests enjoy the riveting performances, delicious food, and an open bar in a breathtaking setting.

Hale Hoaloha Luau at Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort was one of those nights that felt fancy yet relaxed. You get a welcome drink, there are little games before dinner, and we watched the imu part which was cool in a simple way. The buffet was honestly great, lots of poke options, kalua pork, plus a steak/striploin thing and desserts that were a highlight for me. The host/MC was the sleeper hit…big theater voice, funny, kept it moving. It’s definitely expensive, and it got a little chilly/windy toward the end so bring a light layer. I would go again if it were less cost.

The pre-show games kept my son entertained while we waited for the dancing. The buffet had plenty of options, even for him. The show itself was outstanding, especially the hula and fire dancers. The open-air setup made it extra special (and we scored a great sunset.) Highly recommend!
