Situated along the Kohala Coast at the Fairmont Orchid, Hawaiʻi Loa Lūʻau celebrates the history, culture, and hospitality of Hawaiʻi. The grounds of Kalahuipuaʻa were historically associated with aliʻi (royalty) and special visitors, making this a fitting setting for an evening of Polynesian storytelling, music, dance, and food. Cloaked in history, the Kalahuipua’a area of the Kohala Coast was once a gathering place for royalty and their guests. Dotted with fishponds and ancient trails, guests can explore the Ala Loa Trail, or King’s Trail, as well as the beautifully preserved fishponds that were once reserved for the chiefs. While many fishponds have been preserved along the Kohala Coast, none have been restored as well as those in Kalahuipua’a. This is famed as one of the best luaus on the Big Island.
