Activities along the Road to Hana

Road to Hana

Hana TownNamed one of the best road trips in America, Maui’s Road to Hana includes over 600 curves, 58 one-lane bridges, and many of the island’s most beautiful, remote areas, including scenic waterfalls, tropical gardens, lava tubes, freshwater caves, historic sites, bamboo forests, dramatic lookouts, ocean cliffs and more. If the idea of driving it yourself seems too daunting, however, several companies offer plenty of exciting ways to explore Maui’s lush eastern coast.

Since there are so many worthy stops along the Road to Hana, it may be best to let the professionals do the guiding. Hop in a van tour and sit back, relax, and enjoy the views in between stops at some of Maui’s best Road to Hana musts, including Twin Falls, Wai’anapanapa State Park, Hana Town, ’Ohe’o Gulch (also known as Seven Sacred Pools), and even Maui’s winery, among others.

For adventurers who don’t mind getting a little mud on their shoes, we highly recommend a hiking tour alongside a professional Maui tour guide, which takes the worry out of getting lost or missing some of the area’s best trails. And lastly, for those looking to combine hiking and swimming, why not try rappelling down a waterfall! You’ll be transported to private land to practice your skills with an experienced guide before  going down some of Maui’s most gorgeous, remote waterfalls yourself!

However you decide to explore Hana, we guarantee you’ll leave with a new appreciation for Maui’s natural beauty.
